Annemarie studied at Stellenbosch University where she obtained a Bachelor of Music (Education) and Performers Licentiate in Organ. She has taught piano, recorder, class music and subject music at Primary and High school level. In addition to her students achieving outstanding results, Annemarie has also established and managed Music Departments in both independent as well as public schools in the latter part of her career. She loves teaching choirs and bands and is an experienced Musical Director. Annemarie joined Cannons Creek as Head of Arts and Culture in 2014, and is based in the High School where she teaches piano, subject music and ensembles.

Gail teaches Class Music, Piano, Recorder in the Junior School. She is also responsible for the Junior Choir and Orff ensemble. Gail graduated from the University of the Western Cape with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and Psychology. She completed a Higher Diploma in Education at UWC and the Advanced Certificate in Education (Arts & Culture) at Stellenbosch University. A multi-talented instrumentalist who plays the organ, piano, saxophone and violin, she also sings in the New Apostolic Church Choir. Gail is passionate about music education, in particular the Orff Schulwerk and has taught instrumental and class music. She loves to work with children, who keep her grounded. Gail is a member of the Orff Schulwerk Society of South Africa and has travelled locally and abroad to train in this holistic approach to music education.



Carla van Wyk was born into a musical family, starting her musical training at four years of age. She later received her BMus through Wits University, where she specialised in individual teaching and performance. Carla teaches violin and viola, as well as piano. She loves the challenge of breaking new ground and is constantly on the look out for new methods and learning that can encourage healing through music and movement, whilst keeping music fun and enjoyable. She is also trying her hand at making her own Viola d’Amore, which she hopes to finish in her lifetime. Carla joined Cannons Creek in 2015.



De-Wet Nagel is a multi-instrumentalist musician, actor, writer and composer with over ten years of teaching experience. As composer he has released music on iTunes USA and composed various songs for film including a Soundtrack for the film Heartbeat. In 2005 he started the successful music school Ultimate Drummers which provides Drum-kit and Electric Guitar lessons to various schools in affiliation with Trinity College London. De-Wet has joined Cannons Creek as drums teacher in 2014.



Louisa graduated in 2010 with a B Mus Honours degree in Flute Performance from UCT. In July 2012 she obtained a M Music in flute performance from the Royal College of Music in London. During this time she received an Oppenheimer Music Trust Scholarship to study with world-renowned flute pedagogue Trevor Wye, in England. Louisa says: “I genuinely enjoy getting to know my students as individuals and learning what it is that draws them to music. It gives me great joy to see my students succeeding where they may have doubted their abilities or been a little reluctant to prepare in the past. I believe that music education is about much more than learning the skills involved in music making and I aim to convey to my students that discipline, patience, determination and self-expression are just some of the important life skills they can learn through music as a medium.” She joined Cannons Creek in 2017.



Vincent Varrie graduated from Stellenbosch University with the Advanced Diploma in Classical guitar performance and is currently busy with his B Music Honours specialising in advanced guitar teaching method. Vincent started music lessons in high school and always had a passion for the guitar. He comes from a family of teachers and naturally followed in their footsteps. Vincent attended SIMCHA Academy for a few months and thereafter he spent two years in the Certificate programme at Stellenbosch University, where he won the Karen Maritz trophy for the most promising student. Vincent teaches Classical guitar to Primary and High school pupils at Cannons Creek. Vincent Varrie joined Cannons Creek in 2019.



Judith Stiller joined the Cannons Creek Music Academy in August 2021. She grew up in KwaZulu-Natal, but went to study at UFS in Bloemfontein to obtain a BA Mus and her B Mus(Ed) degree. She worked in the music field for many years, being a  member of the SAPD Band, and teaching at a couple of schools. Her last position was at Treverton College and Prep , where she taught for many years. There she taught piano, recorder, entry level guitar, class music, and was in charge of the marimba band, bell choir and the school choir at Prep and College level. She also assisted the Drama department with the musical side of stage productions. Judith says that the real joy of music teaching is to reach the heart of the child, and to build confidence, and to foster a lifelong love of music.
